Game Shooting at Widdington
Game shooting has always been an integral part of life at Widdington Farm. In the 1950s and 60s, it was home to a renowned wild English partridge shoot, run by Jeremy’s father, the late Peter Horton.
The tradition was revived by Jeremy in 1999, and since then, the shoot has gone from strength to strength — now offering over 30 days of exciting, high-quality sport each season. Many of our returning guests have become valued friends over the years, a testament to the welcoming atmosphere and memorable days we strive to provide.

The Widdington Experience
Nestled in the heart of the farm, the valley provides a range of challenging drives, perfectly shaped by the landscape to present some truly spectacular birds.
A typical day includes three morning drives, followed by elevenses back at the warmth of the clubhouse — the perfect time to share stories and highlights from the morning. Afterward, guests enjoy a further two drives before returning to the clubhouse for a well-earned luncheon.

Tradition, Challenge & Hospitality
It’s often said that a day spent partridge shooting is a day enjoying the most quintessentially English of game birds. The success and enjoyment of the day depend on many elements — the quality of the shoot, the company you keep, and the presentation of the birds.
At Widdington Shoot, we take pride in delivering all of these to the highest standard, ensuring each day is both personal and unforgettable.
